I don’t support taking additional ketones. The rest of these guidelines work and are FLEXIBLE. Up your carbs? Up your workouts. Drink more water to flush retained fluids. You will hit the formula that works for you. 👩🏻🍳❤️👏🏽

I agree, I have been in contact with a company that sells keto products and while they may be of use to help people in training more, I think once he was done explaining everything that he agreed when I put the facts together that for a keto diet when someone is working to make their own ketones it may diminish the overall result. Now this is just a layman's opinion but when you think about it it makes sense.
I think the mct oil is more beneficial to the diet plan, I use that on days my fat intake is too low.

Exogenous ketones are a great way for others to make money, I don't recommend.

I love the 'Try' Fasting. I agree because fasting is such a 'Mental' thing that you should 'just try it' rather than feel you 'must do it'. Otherwise it is wayyy too scary for people and they will just RUN the other way :)

The exogenous ketones can be useful for accelerating entry into ketosis. This has non-fat loss applications for certain athletes, including Navy Seals, who sometimes rely on ketosis to prevent rebreather induced brain seizures on mission. Dom D'Agostino pioneered this research (at USF for the USN) and much other keto research, including reversing malignant tumors. Sharp guy. Pioneering keto researcher. Worth a google.

I take them but it hasn't changed my ketosis reading. After these gone I PROBABLY won't buy again, pretty expensive too.

have you tried the breathalyzer method of checking ketones in the body verses the Pstick? If so, what brand and is it better than the stick?

I’ll take a look.

Agreed! Fasting is all mental. It’s a game of self-discipline. It requires planning & strategy. “What am I going to do to keep my mind busy until my designated time to eat?” You need to prepare something delicious for that meal. Don’t wing it. You risk over eating. If you work, you need to be sure you’re not being overly aggressive with the fasting window so your blood sugar doesn’t go too low. It’s diable but requires focus. It can be exhausting.

I’m BOOTCAMPING it because I’m plateauing. I have to be more hardcore, more focused with everything.✊🏽💪🏽

this is interesting - thanks for sharing. I started with portion control and then went to reduced carbs. then my pancreas turned out to be a jerk and I had to adjust some diet strategy. I like the "do what works for you" part.

I broke my fast yesterday at the 47 hr 2 min mark all because on my way home while commuting, I was alert and couldn't sleep so I watched a cheesy sci-fi movie on my tablet. While watching it, I starting thinking about the rotisserie chicken in the fridge at home waiting for daddy to get it!! That image of butter melting over it got locked in my brain and I couldn't shake it. I wasn't starving when I walked in the house. As a matter of fact, I didn't get to dinner for at least 45 minutes after getting home because I had other things to do. It is soooo mental that it's ridiculous. Fasting is the ULTIMATE plateau breaker. You CAN and you WILL do this!!

THANK YOU CHESGREEN! I have yet to do a multi-day fast but I am working up to it.

@chesgreen - Preach! :) I have been there. I ended up running at night in the dark to get past it. Lucky I go to bed at 9:00pm because I don't know what I would do if that hit me in the middle of the night :(

I have the exact same steps in the same order. I only do exogenous ketones a couple of times a week when I want to restore electrolytes or am feeling sluggish during the last stretch of my 16:8 IF time. Hope this process works well for us both!

Thank for posting this, its a good visual. I have done each one except #4 which I will not do. I've gone past the 36 hour fasting once but I prefer the 16 and 24. For me, IF is a go to solution when the scale seems stuck, not a planned event. Might change that later.
