4 days ago, I wrote in my journal that I gained 6 pounds over a week where I was eating in restaurants all day and every day. I was taking my kids to visit colleges far from home.... I "knew" I did not overeat, though I did eat foods that my diet does not allow. I tried to eat less food to compensate for eating the wrong foods.

Today, I woke up and weighed myself - as I do almost every day.... and 5 of those 6 pounds disappeared overnight.... my feet had become really swollen over that week, and still were yesterday... Today, all good. Still need to drop another pound to get back to where I was 14 days ago, but I can deal with it.

As a positive - an NSV if you will - I had a pint of Halo Top last night while I was on the computer, and instead of eating half or all of it, I was just fine in putting it back in the freezer after about 3 TBS. Maybe this keto thing where you supposedly lose your taste for sweets is actually working, finally.

Positive results! 👍🎉 I see "letting loose" occasionally for vacays or visits with friends as a valuable tool that makes it easier to stay on track. I don't get that deprived feeling while sticking to my regular WOE 😁. Plus, I find those "splurge" lbs are "easy come, easy go" - just like yours were!!

That water retention is a killer! Glad yours resolved quickly and kudos to the ice cream treat! I ate a spoonful of frosting yesterday instead of a slice of cake :) Sometimes just getting the flavor is enough.

Good for you!! I also have "gained" about 4 pounds because of a wedding, feeding out of town family, dinners out, and a couple camping days. The nice thing with it is that I know what to do to drop the weight, and I don't worry about it any more. Keto is a life change and it feels so good to be in charge like that!

So very interesting. I'm glad you posted this. My husband lost about 7 lbs in 10 days on Keto and then on his four days off of work, indulged in his favorite food beer! He gained five pounds back!! He was mortified and stunned. Good news is, after two days back on Keto he took those five pounds right off. This time on his days off his shift, he is counting calories (or I am for him) and in two days he's only gained a lb. Not as bad as last time.
