Here I am, a few weeks after my 39th birthday, fat as ever. The only time I've weighed more is when I was pregnant with my daughter, almost 13 years ago. I'm starting to feel the effects: my back hurts, my knees hurt, I'm tired all the time...this has to stop. I'm too young to feel so old. I know if I don't get a handle on this now, it's going to spiral out of control and I'll end up like my grandmother, morbidly obese and bed-bound. So I'm starting today (actually started yesterday).
