I have 3 picky kids and am picky myself. Nobody likes the same things :/.

Surgery next week (just fat grafting) and if it’s like all the others than I won’t be allowed to use our case iron skillets or carry the crockpot for at least 1-2 weeks. I know from experience I’ll either want to cook and be really active when I should rest or I’ll want to do nothing- no in between for me!

Tonight I browned up 8, yes 8#, of beef/elk and made chili. I now have two meals of that in the freezer. But I and the youngest don’t care for it. This weekends list includes tacos, taco soup, chicken fajitas and cooking chicken for chicken noodle soup and chicken and noodles. I’m at a loss for other freezer meal ideas that are super easy and require just dumping out and reheating. I have a feeling Pizza and burgers will be on the list as well. I may fry up some burgers for myself. Occasionally hubby offers to cook but he has no regard for my diet. It’ll be something I hate or really high calories for small portions (think half a bowl worth 800 calories). No idea how he always manages high calorie meals any time he cooks. He also tends to throw things together then expects me to deconstruct a casserole to weight each item separate. He must think I have mad skills if he thinks I can separate ground beef from cream of chicken soup! Lol

I don't envy you the task of keeping so many happy. I wonder how my progress would have been different if I didn't have the luxury of only having to cater for myself

It is challenging for sure. Someone is usually upset. Now if someone doesn’t like the meal I make threybare welcome to eat leftovers. As long as it’s not leftovers from town such as someone saved half their meal to eat later. Not a perfect system but everyone gets fed and has 2-3 meals every week they love.
