Sally maybe that’s it. I rarely eat before working out. BUT I ate lunch today maybe an hour before working out. Also had a big drink while there and a full bottle of water before leaving for the gym.

JC wish I would’ve thought to ask my dr Friday. Didn’t even occur to me to ask about it :/. I’m thinking it has to do with my heart rate. Mostly when it reaches 130-160. The chemo I took damages the heart. Supposedly, online says, that I can get my heart healthy again. Perhaps it’s the HR going too high or blood pressure as Sally said. No way to check blood pressure when I’m working out. Mine runs 100/60 up to 130/90. Friday was 102/64 I believe. Anxiety made it spike to 122/80ish last month. They told me I was a cool cucumber for it always being 120/80 or less mostly lol. If they only knew. Sometimes I think if I stopped smoking (dr said it raises blood pressure) that I’d probably let it get too low.

This is what I found online dealing with blood pressure:
Although overexertion is common in group exercise classes and team training sessions, it can happen anywhere, anytime. Pushing too hard during your workout can cause your blood pressure to drop or result in dehydration. This can leave you feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or faint.

If that’s it I’m stuck lol. Oh well. I’ll just make sure there’s a hunk, I mean hubby, to grab onto when I stand up!

Peeperjj I don’t think it’s normal to be light headed, especially if it persist, while workouts. You might be doing too much, and your body is responding. Cut down on the count of lifts or # of weight and see what happens. Easy on your heart?

If it's been regular I'd go see my doctor. You may have an undiagnosed heart condition.

Be sure they take a blood pressure carefully. Some tech's are not so.

Something is wrong; you should not be having this happen routinely. Keep a GOOD spotter around and figure out the problem ASAP.

It happens whether I eat or not. It happens if I eat a big meal, small meal or a snickers. It happens on machines and free weight machines. The only time it doesn’t happen is when I go super light but light does me no good as I’m trying to build muscle.

Tom, I go back this July so I’ll ask her. I never lift without hubby there except if I use the machines which isn’t often. I’m beginning to think it’s heart related just not sure if it’s HR, blood pressure or heart damage. Maybe I’ll ask for a scan of some sort to check my heart. Thanks

Drop the powders and potions. Eat 90% plants. Practice Pranayama and breathwork. Try bodyweight practices and spend lots of time in nature and meditation. Your life will change

Yoga, all I have is a protein shake to get extra protein and my bcaa/creatine powder for gym days. I’m not a veggie lover so 90% plant based wouldn’t work for me. I do total body workouts 3x per week. At least compound exercises and it’s mostly total body. It’s also winter here so outdoor time is at a minimum unless the sun is shining. I get cold easily and will get a sinus infection if I’m out in the cold too long. First year without one so far!

I had a few spells of feeling lightheaded a few times while on the treadmill, just recently. Then I felt like I was getting overheated, then nausea came on. It was the feelings as when I was hypoglycemic. Other than low sugar, it could be BP like Sally said.

Oh I also meant to say - years ago I had very low iron. At times, I would feel lightheaded and nauseated almost daily especially if I was active.
