edikotope's Notizen, 06 Nov 20

It’s been a full year since I’ve done a 7 day water fast 💦. Last year I had an awesome group of ladies I joined and we all made it through. What a time that was. So this year, starting Thursday 12th, I begin my second fasting journey. If anyone wants to join you’re welcome to. Either way I’ve decided to do it once a year for the rest of my life. Can’t wait for the 2nd run.

Omw you are mentally strong to have completed a 7 day water fast 🙌. I tried doing a water fast last week but could only last till 24hrs every day 😬 My goal was at least 36hrs

I do a daily 18h fast, 36 hours aren’t too hard, 7 days is the challenge. Perhaps start with me but do 36 hours, break, another 36 hours?

Lol okay sounds like a plan 👍 reaching 36 hours will be a personal best for me. It’s more of a mental challenge than anything else. Your mental game is strong but I’m willing to give it another go 🤞

The mind is flexible. I believe you have it in you to succeed. A day at a time.

That’s so true. I’ll take it one day at a time. Feeling amped and excited to overcome this challenge. 72hrs is just as hardcore Salt n Pepper 🙌.... So from the 12th it’s on guys. We can do this💪 😁

How do you do a water fast? just drink water?
09 Nov 20 vom Mitglied: morelig
Good question. It’s water yes, with added electrolytes to keep from getting dizzy and weak etc. potassium, magnesium, salts, maybe a bit of lemon too. You’re welcome to have “black” tea or coffee too. It’s a low or no calorie fast.

@tazz we can check in daily in progress to help each other stay motivated. It’s doable. Last year the ladies encouraged me daily to go all the way.

what kind of results did you achieve last year?
09 Nov 20 vom Mitglied: carlkitshoff
@Edi yes definitely we can check in daily to keep each other motivated. I think I’m going to aim for 72hrs break then another 72hrs.

how much did u lose in the 7 days?

I'll join you from the 12th. Never done a water fast for longer than 5hours. liquid diet for 5 days. I'm certainly going to give it my mental best. New to all of this, I have just been introduced by a generous friend.

@carlkitshoff last year I lost 5kg during the fast in 7 days. So I should be at my goal weight (80kg) again this year after this fast. My real goal is 75, but 80kg is a good milestone to maintain for a while as well.

@tazz 72 hours, wow, that’s positive. Well done for aiming higher. The mind is powerful, so focus and you’ll achieve it. Can’t wait to have us start.

@sallywu I lost 5kg. 84.6-79.3kg, I’d lose daily about 0.75kg on average. Drinking only water and electrolytes. In the tough days the group would be super motivating. But the hardest days are the first 2-3 days. Most people don’t like fasting or quit because of the first 3 days. But after that the mind and body sync up and it’s full steam ahead. Also had my vitals checked by a doctor during the fast and everything was above normal. So it might sound hard, but your body will cope. In terms of exercise, I did do 2 days of running (5km at 7kmph) which was at the time moderate for me.

@ZizasMother Welcome. Looking forward to having you in the journey too. My take, just like with @tazz, is do what you can, but do it consistently until the 7th day mark. So if you can give 24 hours, then break, then another, then do that. It definitely helps if you've been doing IF or OMAD before this, so I do understand the challenge. Again you have the group for daily motivation.

@Edi so just to confirm we will cut off last meal tonight ? I’m thinking of cutting off at 7pm and start counting from there onwards.
