MrsMaynard's Notizen, 09 Feb 11

Sigh, I haven't lost any weight in over a week now, I can't seem to stick to the amount of calories I want in a day and I haven't been exercising, I feel so negative, I wish I had more support around me...and more motivation...it's hard trying to do it on your own, my husband watched his calories and lost over 20 pounds, he has way more calories to eat than me the only workout he does is his job but it keeps him moving so I guess that's good enough, I just can't shake this feeling of being worthless, I have so many fears about my weight yet I can't even stick to my plan, I don't know what I'm going to do...I guess I need to just suck it up and do what I need to do period, maybe give myself a "prize" for when I do reach a goal, anyone have any ideas on staying motivated...I know the whole you're only cheating yourself thing but that doesn't seem to be enough anymore.

My fellow gets quite a few more calories a day as well! His RDI is 2400 while mine is 1400. I found that I still need to feel like I have treats so I've hunted down some 0% fat yogurts, no sugar added pudding cups, apple sauce. What I find helpful is making sure that I have a low calorie breakfast and lunch and then I can treat myself to an extra yummy dinner. Mayby give that a go?

Well first of all congratulate yourself for keeping up with your challenge of tracking your food! You've got a full calendar of all your meals, nice job! Second, let's review your plan. 1000 calories a day seems like an unnecessary burden... especially if its not happening and just making you upset. Why don't you start by finding out what your real RDI for a sedentary life is and start there. Make that your new food goal even for just a week. Then plan one days meals. It heps me to pre plan dinner at the very least. Then I can better spend my calories the rest of the day. if your not sure what to plan.. you can look at other dietera menus for ideas. You can do this... you can.

One other thing... I bet you consumed a lot of sodium this week which make the scale stall. You can actually see your sodium but editing the preferences of your columns in the food tracker. The link is just under the caloriea heading I think (from memory). Sodium is supposed to stay under 3,000 a day.... if its well above that, you can bet thats your prob. Plus, you can't be skipping breakfast girl!

I know but my schedule is crazy, I get up after 12 everyday so it's hard to eat breakfast, I am currently working on getting the sleep schedule thing on track, I will look at my sodium and try and keep track of it better, thanks for all the tips. =)

Well, if you get the urge to snack, or if you feel only a little bit hungry, snack on as many veggies and fruits as possible. I found several veggies that are super easy t make and that I love...I snack on those or some apple slices or berries when I get cravings. It might be easier for me since I don't eat meat or dairy, but still... I've been actually having trouble getting TO 1000 many days

My sodium has been pretty bad lately, I have the problem of always wanting to eat, even if I'm not hungry, I'll eat whenever I'm bored or just want a taste of something, that's why I always try and keep myself busy, I need to stock up on veggies and fruits and prepare them ahead of time so I can have them to snack on when I do feel like eating, at least then I won't be using many calories and it's good for you, gives me a lot to think about and work on this coming week, thanks for all the ideas, I will try and put them into action!

I know breakfast is hard, but you really need to eat within an hour or so of waking up. This is what kicks starts your metabolism into going again for the day. I bet this alone will help you. Also, don't be so hard on yourself. You have been loosing weight, maybe not this last week, but in general you have a downward trend! Also, exercise is key. I know it is not always the easiest habit to get into, but it will not only help your weightloss but definitely your moods. Take measurements of your body once per month. If you are exercising you will see those numbers go down, even if the scale doesn't cooperate. This will help motivate you to continue to exercise. There are many different types of exercise, find some you enjoy. For example, have you ever tried Zumba? It is so much fun, but maybe dancing isn't your thing, maybe yoga or pilates? If you find something you enjoy doing it will help you stick to the plan. Hope these help...Have a great weekend!
