Ok....I'm back here to vent. I took my boys in for their well child checks today, and got some not so good news. They are doing well physically.
Tyler (2yrs): 34 inches tall, 25.2lbs
Isaac (1yr) : 32 inches tall, 23.8lbs

Pretty crazy!! They are almost the exact same size and they are a year apart. My oldest son Tyler who was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease, has not started talking yet. They asked me today if he could say around 50 words....I FREAKED! I was like, he can't even say FIVE words!! He has been exhibiting some behaviors autistic in nature, and they are concerned he may have a personality disorder. He has extremely high anxiety. I understand after doing some research that autism is actually found in a lot of people with Celiac Disease. They are going to set him up with a team of specialists to see what they think. I am praying that he is just behind due to being premature and such, but once again, knowledge is power. The more I know about what is wrong with him, the more I can do to fix it. Thanks for listening everyone!!

My niece wasn't saying anything at 2 years old either. Then all of a sudden one day she wouldn't shut up!!! Same with my foster brother except he was 3 before he would say 25 words nevermind 50, He was a premature baby so I'm hoping for the best for you!! *hugz*

Thanks for the kind words!! I am hoping that is the same in my son's case. I am a little concerned because initially, he could say things like Mama, DaDa, Baby....but then he lost them, and that is a classic sign of autism. I was upset and depressed at first, but the more I have time to think about it, it's ok. Even if he does have some disorder, it's just an obstacle. That's all. Just another challenge that will make us stronger in the long run :)

My niece was born at 24 weeks. She was very premie and only weighed 1 pound. She just turned 2 March 13th and she can probably 5-10 words but only about 5 of them you can really understand. She makes noises and motions rather than speaking and she is the same size as your two year old now. So, maybe its nothing. But, if it is i am the person that believes God gives special kids to special people and that he will be a brilliant kid when he gets older because you are able to help him so early! There is a great plan for his life or he wouldnt be here. Prayers are with you!

It might have a lot to do with him being premature. Try not to worry too much until you know for sure. As long as his developmental issues are not life threatening, I'm sure everything will be okay. : )

It seems you've gotten some great help from many people. Sounds like the doctors are being cautious and helpful. Try not to worry. Easy to say, huh? Think positive thoughts, but not fantasy. Positive thinking contributes to good health. Negative is stressful. Stress you can do without. Take it one day at a time and know that everything happens for a reason. Believe it or not! Being almost 60, I can attest to it. You seem to be handling all of this well. As for the weight loss, you have a very positive attitude. Keep that up, thinking to yourself the weight will come off and you will have a wonderful life with you beautiful boys !!
