I am pleased with my discipline with eating and exercise, but I was quite disappointed that after breaking a 24 hour fast yesterday I had gained some weight and after a 90" bike today I had gained .9 lbs. I was really looking forward to losing much more weight as I was really dedicated this. I guess I must not be so hard on myself as I am down 1.6 lbs this week. I think that I want it to come off just as quickly as it came on, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work that way. It's so much easier to put in on than take it off!!! Perhaps I just need to take a few breaths and congratulate myself for the dedication and the weight loss. A loss is a loss after all and if I continue this way week after week I will reach my goal of being fit and healthy and feeling good about how I look. I need to be more realistic and should be satisfied not matter how much I loose. Realistically a loss of 1 lb per week should be my goal, which is what the experts seem to tell us and perhaps it is also the healthy way to go.

Our muscles retain water to help them heal when doing intense exercise. Google "why the scale lies" for insight.
