I have thrown out the potato chips! I found that I could not have them in the house without eating them on the couch in the evening. Grrr! Part of me was sane and rational, thinking about the reasons that I should NOT be pouring out a second bowl of chips to snack on while another part of me was feasting on the excess salt and fat that is a potato chip! Two nights of that was plenty, so into the trash can they go.

Besides the battle with the chips, things have been going great. The kids and I have been hiking twice this week. I have been getting up early and hitting the gym before DH goes off to work. I have been feeling good. My clothes have been fitting so much better. I have had to start a pile of big pants in the closet to be donated. I am enjoying wearing all those clothes that showed every bulge last summer but are actually flattering now.

I have much to do today, so I best get to it. I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday.

Intelligence will win over willpower if you are determined to use it. Good choice about the chips!

That's wonderful! If I bring the chips in, I eat them too. You're not alone there. Keep up the great work!

YAY about the pants!!! Great choice about those chips that were calling your name!

That's awesome! Making better choices is part of the journey--not always easy. I have a nice donation pile going, too! I'm also enjoying wearing clothes that didn't fit me last summer--some that haven't fit for years. Whenever you're tempted by those chips, just think of how great your clothes fit now. ;-)

I also take mine to the Salvation army. Actually a bunch of the clothes I'm taking there sometimes I bought there; with sizes decreasing over time it made sense with my budget to buy clothes there otherwise it would have really hurt my budget.

Chips are tough, especially Doritos. Definately easier not to have them around. I like testing myself though. Once you have acquired the will. The risk is gone wether the temptation is there or not. I actually have to argue with people at BBQs and stuff that I am on a diet and cannot 'pig out'. They seem dissappointed and understandably. It is tough to see someone with restraint when you know yourself you need more.

Great choice! I always tell my wife, if we do not buy it - it will not be eaten. I too have a donation pile! Just keep at it! Results are addicting!

llldill... I call that life style not a diet! Good for you for keeping on track!

Good work on the clothes and choosing to trash the chips! I agree - things like chips are terribly hard to moderate. I do not have any doubt you planned to have just a small portion - but it just can be hard with trigger foods!

I tell people I have to be good to reach my goals and now to stay there. Some understand some do not, if they do not it's ok with me, if it is not going to change anything. I now have a photo of me in my pocketbook at my maximum weight and if they get pushy I show them and tell I never want to go back there. It stops it dead.... Mostly it is people who are overweight themselves. To lose and maintain it has to be part of your life and not a so called "diet". It is your choice what you eat and it is your choice to exercise. Every bite is your choice to put it in your mouth, chew it, and swallow it. It is NOT dictated by someone else.

Yep, it certainly has become a lifestyle.
