I'm getting really fed up with this... I have to be brutally honest with myself because I know I have to be hard on myself in order to really get things accomplished.

Currently, my husband is on his way home with pizza... AFTER me refusing to eat it and then caving and giving my blessing. Even though it's high cal, it still fits in with my calorie count. As long as I am counting calories again, it's all good... hopefully.

I've been at the same weight for 8 months. I work out HARD but maybe not as often as I should and not as much cardio as I should, but nonetheless, it's still hard. I know I'm burning calories when I do heavy calisthenics, because my heart rate is up and I sweat like a pig. I've been working like this every 2-3 days and haven't lost 1 pound. There's no way I'm gaining THAT much muscle to counteract the fat loss (I don't feel like I've lost fat). That's it, I'm gonna start running every day. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Why is eating SO hard to control??

As long as you are counting calories, it should all be good as far as weight loss is concerned (health is another matter, but you know that). Do you know if your daily calorie count is consistently under your BMR (www.internetfitness.com/calculators/bmr.htm)? If you are doing exercise, and you are more often than not under your BMR, AND you are not losing weight, you *might* have something going on with your thyroid (a pregnancy lately?). Good Luck Sarbobar!

When I was on a plateau at the beginning of weight loss, I figured out my average daily intake and decided that 1400 calories was my "maintain" amount for 170 pounds - basically figured out my personal BMR. Then, I started cutting calories below that and adding exercising to try to get the 500 calorie deficit for my personal 1 pound per week loss. Good luck!

I read somewhere that losing weight is about 80% diet and 20% exercise. Basically, you need to watch what you are eating. Even with exercise, if you take in too many calories, you may not lose. I think both are important, but you need to keep track. Also, "what" you eat can be as important as how much you are eating. If you eat too many processed foods, you may have trouble losing (lots of sodium). Good luck!
