I tried to add whole grains to my meals in order to gain the heart health benefits they allegedly possess, but unfortunately, they did nothing but cause slight weight gain. I am compromising while planning my meals next week, with removing the barley from my lunches and the farro from my dinners, but keeping the old-fashioned oatmeal for breakfast. It is mind numbingly frustrating that I walked 10 miles, rode my bike 53 miles, and averaged about 1700 calories per day this week while getting over 120g protein, 60g fiber, saturated fat below 15g sodium below 1500mg, only to GAIN 0.4 LBS.😡 I fucking hate my dysfunctional body and it's shitty metabolism.
