Thanks Sherrye. That’s exactly how i took it. But for the CIMT test I wouldn’t be so concerned. 😉

With numbers like your I would consider the statin while simultaneously working on your own to control what you can. Your doc iis right, it is NOT Just the oatmeal. With numbers that high I would not count on diet alone being able to fix them. You don’t want to have plaque continually building up while trying to win the diet control war.

Kenna im aware. Im also very averse to statins. I understand if i cannot get this under control in the short term i may have no choice but the good news is that the fractionation indicates it is not the soft placate building currently. Next labs are in 90 days and that will be the determining factor. Ive been battling with LDL since a teenager at a healthy weight and diet this is not new just scarier as ive gotten older and more educated. Genetically pre-disposed.

Also, for Kenna, in lieu of statins doc has me on a supplement protocol that includes berberine, RYR upping my fish oil and vitamin b12 and a couple other things. Ive been on this protocol for about 3-4 weeks and will see how that effects next labs as well. Without the side effects of statins.

Good job. I take Cholestoff. Not going to take statins.

Glad to hear that the numbers moved in the right direction. What are the next steps you are going to take to try move them lower without statins ? Or just stay the course and see if the additional supplements will be reflected in next labs ?

Honee-just the supplement regiment that she put me on after the statin scrip was issued. I had only been on for about a week when these labs were take last month so they aren’t reflective of any benefit. Continuing on that, incorporating a couple tines a week of hot cycle (infrared sauna) to sweat for 20 min minimum in addition to the walking and training i currently do. That’s about it. It has been determined by both doc and nutritionist that there is not a whole lot i can do with diet to effect change tho im still curious if the oatmeal was the cause of the downward number.

I was wondering what your results were...sounds like it's a mixed bag of information. How do you feel about it? It is good that Dr will keep you off statins. What are you doing to keep iron level up? Im here for you friend! Take care!💜💜💜🙏🙏
As for the house, I know it's hard. So many memories and sadness for your loss. Again, my heart goes out to you❤️

Congrats on getting your MIL's house sold. I'm jealous. I had to reduce the price this week by $30k. Someone is coming by tomorrow but I doubt anyone else will look during the holiday weekend. Living out in the middle of nowhere, although a very nice gated community, has it's drawbacks. It's good the cholesterol numbers are going in the right direction. I asked my doctor about checking my numbers and he said I am actually very healthy, with just my weight as something to work on. He requested more labs in November, if I'm still here.

Morticia i feel very much the same way. Balancing act trying to get the LDL down and keep the arteries as healthy as possible at this point.

Fritzy you will get there. Staging really does help along with a fresh coat of paint in a very neutral color. Been my experience at any rate. You’re right tho, you have a specific targeted demographic may be much more challenging to market to. When is the last time you had full labs? Think we are the same age so if he is just being lazy require him to do a full work up. As in, i had no idea i was having issues with my arteries but my doc has been watching these LDL numbers and ordered the CIMT after i had had a cardiac calcium mri a year ago which was perfect. The more you know the more you KNOW. (Wasn’t that a commercial back when or a logo?).

Diana, i feel cautiously optimistic. Im not really doing anything to keep my iron levels up i think with the decrease in protein it just started dropping. And i cannot take ferritin again although i have not forgotten why. Thank you regarding the house. We had an offer on day one. We rejected it and they came up another 15k. I would have said no but hubs just wants to put it behind us. The stress and worry of someone vandalizing or, worse, squatting in it. It’s in a nice upscale area but we are #5 in crime in the USA the good ole state of Washington what with our “open arms” and defunding the police over past 10 years. Funny thing, one of the women politicians who spearheaded a lot of this socialistic/communistic political rhetoric was recently ousted from office about a year or so ago for nefarious doings herself. Anyway makes for a nerve wracking experience to have an empty property. Every time one of my rentals changes tenants i get nervous so i understand where he is coming from.

My doctor has labs run at least once, sometimes twice a year. He says I don't need cholesterol checked more than once a year. I had some lab work done earlier this year. Can't stage a house with cats that shred everything and certainly not necessary in my price range. I had the house painted a couple years ago and took down everything on the walls so the house looks fine.
