Today was a much better day than yesterday. I'm feeling a lot better and that is a plus for sure.

I'm really struggling with making myself eat regularly. For the last year, I have only eaten one meal a day...dinner (not the best choice of time or habit). Eating regularly is really tough for me for some reason. It feels a lot more comfortable to not eat until I'm really hungry. That's how I fell into the habit. I'm struggling with the new regime a bit, but I'm determined.

I love the fact that I've been able to stop two of my four diabetic meds after a few days. I love the fact that a couple of pounds are gone. I just have to keep eating regularly until that becomes a new habit that replaces the old.

Fasting from time to time is supposed to be good for you so they say. I don't have that option because my blood sugar would go too low if I went totally without food. I stumbled on the right combination of insulin and food once a day that brought my A1C down to 6.0 and stuck with it. But, I don't want to be dependent on insulin in order to do that anymore. I have already seen the benefits of regular eating and won't go back, but it is hard for me!

Thank goodness I have a great hubby who introduced me by example to the benefits of losing weight. Thank goodness he introduced me to FS.

There was a saying in Weight Watchers years ago when I was in the program that said "keep doing what your doing and you will keep getting what you got"...or something to that effect. It's true. If I kept doing the once a day meals, I would continue to get the need for all the diabetes meds. Now, the goal is to keep doing what I'm doing to reach my goals.

I have to continue to remind myself of that!

So, here's to everyone that is "doing what they are doing"! You are a wonderful example of desire, change, persistence, support and success!

Tachatna, Congratulations on getting off two of your medications for diabetes due to your weight loss. That's amazing! I had Gastic Sleeve Surgery for many health related issues and I do not have to take no more medications for my diabetes plus I've lost 110 lbs. My high weight was 289 lbs. I walked with a cane or with my dearest friend call the "rolliter".Both my knees has been replaced as my left hip also. I have a mild case of COPD and walking was a big problem for me too. Not anymore, no cane or rolliter needed, no longer on a inhaler plus my heart medications has been cut in half. Im 66 years old... May you continue with your diet and take long walks and you will reach your goal. You are a winner...

Thank you! You are an amazing inspiration, Dovie! I'm a year older than you and have a lot of the same health problems. Don't you just love aging? :D BUT, it is never too late to make things better.
