Tuktu is the Inuit word for caribou. Caribou has a deep spiritual meaning in their culture too as caribou is a primary food source it also means and symbolizes spirit.

I have always eaten healthy home prepared organic food. I don't like processed food or people preparing or touching my food unless it's In n' Out burgers or pizza then unfortunately I don't seem to care. I love to eat a variety of great natural foods. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and lean meats. I'm Trying to eat more whole grains, nuts and beans, as my awareness of my intake of macros is increasing. I love fresh bread and salty chips and snacks. My weight has been creeping up over the last 10 years as I get older. On April 12th 2023 I hit 248.5 lbs. That date was significant it was a Wednesday and it was exactly four weeks after my younger brother Matthew died unexpectedly of heart failure. Matthew had diabetes and was overweight.

I am slowly now gaining a new appreciation of life. Although my health is good right now I said to myself it is time to take action today or my health could fade away too. I try to weigh every bite of food I eat and count every calorie with the fat secret app. I mostly exercise at least 20-30 minutes a day I usually a walk in my neighborhood and/or do calisthenics at home with 5lb-10lb weights. I eat most everything I did and liked before I started wising up; I just eat a lot less now.

I'm creating a new lifestyle and not just a diet for myself. I have a super supportive partner of twenty four years who I love dearly. I plan to keep my calories and eating habits better for the rest of my life. So my change of habits has to be something I can live with and continue for the rest of my life.
