Fat Recommendations
To calculate the grams of fat you should eat each day to facilitate weight loss while staying healthy, take 20 and 35 percent of your total calorie needs—as recommended by the Institute of Medicine-- and divide by nine, since fat provides nine calories per gram. For example, you’d need to eat 22 to 39 grams of fat when consuming a 1,000-calorie diet, 27 to 47 grams when following a 1,200-calorie meal plan, 31 to 54 grams when consuming 1,400 calories and 36 to 62 grams of fat each day when consuming a 1,600-calorie weight loss diet.

Starting the water challenge (1 gallon a day) in 4 hours...midnight?
Well, I am a night shifter so nights are my days and by 6 am I will have drank at least half of the demand!
As a nurse, and for those of you who do not know your cardiac status, if you see any leg swelling while doing this, or find yourself having increased breathing difficulty, or you take Lasix or other diuretic...S T O P drinking the water and contact your doctor. This much water could cause congestive heart failure. Sometimes we do not know we are having a problem until we have it.
Also, a person can become toxic from too much water. Just saying.

DESPAIR
This is exactly what I have been talking about. Even though we are dieting, we are missing many key nutrients and things like elements, amino acids, minerals, etc. Even when you are not dieting, you are most likely missing key nutrients in your diet.
I went to the Livestrong website and entered my entire intake for the day. Even though I ate healthy items, look at the unbelievable loss of nutrients. So I am actually starving myself in another, UNHEALTHY way.
These are the foods I ate, all very healthy and trying to stay on the food pyramid for fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, etc...

The body must have what it needs to break down foods, use foods and create muscle and energy. No wonder we are a nation of unhealthy individuals! I must research the correct foods in the correct values and amounts in order to understand exactly how I have been destroying myself thinking I was doing myself good. WOW!
