I didn't do a great job of cutting out sugar this week. That being said, the overall trend from the app that syncs with the fancy scale is going exactly as I want. I have not gotten enough sleep this week, either. This next week what I am putting in to make a difference (small, incremental change, remember?) is to experiment with new types of vegetables. I'm going to make some "chaffles" tomorrow. Sunday is my dad's birthday party, a dinner get-together at Olive Garden. Any suggestions on the best options there are appreciated!
I watched an interesting documentary on mindfulness meditation. I'm committing to practicing this more. The science behind how it has the ability to alter the brain and the many benefits that can be produced make it a worthwhile pursuit, IMO.

I've been scarce as of late. I still working out what to put in or take out that will create a plan that works. I'm re-reading The Obesity Code. I've partnered with my doctor for accountability and to get specific blood tests every 2 months to check my vitals and have a picture into the hormonal effects of this lifestyle. Chiefly, I am interested in Cortisol levels and fasting Insulin levels. I haven't asked about whether it makes sense to check Ghrelin, given that it can fluctuate so much throughout a day. I also check in daily with a buddy who is also taking on intermittent fasting and a more plant-based way of eating. I got a recipe last night from a friend who is doing keto for Chaffles?? Going to try it after I finally catch up on lost sleep.

I'm in 2nd place in the biggest loser competition at work. The guy in first place is waaaaay ahead. It's still early in the game, though. ;)

The app cut off my head when the photo uploaded, but here I am at the FDR Memorial, which was so moving. Quote from FDR, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." I'm taking on being fearless!

So, I went on an amazing trip to Washington DC and threw caution to the wind. I managed to maintain, and I don't regret my choices. Everything was amazing, a trip to remember forever. I'll post a picture soon, just wanted to check-in.
