Warning!! Poor vision can be bad for your health! Lesson learned...one of the only treats I afford myself are protein bars. I am always very mindful of sugar and protein content. Yesterday I found a bar that was pretty big and had only 160 calories and 5 g sugar. I usually opt for bars with less than 3, but figured it was ok to "splurge" today ;-)

Ate the bar and ended up with terrible stomach pains most all night. Not sure if the bar was entirely responsible for that, but I feel it safe to assume so.

Pains did subside and when I went to log my macro's...after putting on my glasses...I found that the serving size was actually 1/2 bar! D'oh!! So now my 160 calorie snack was more meal sized to 320 calories with 10g of sugar!

Thank goodness I worked hard at the gym yesterday which gave me some net calories to play with. So, lesson learned. Can't trust these old squinting eyes anymore! Makes a big difference to actually be able to READ your nutrition label!
