This may sound silly to some of you but I’m very sad about Matthew Perry’s death. He was so funny, talented, smart, and kind and now he is dead meat lying on a slab in a morgue. He is only 54. I love the show Friends and he made me laugh so much (love the duck and goose episodes especially). I guess this is all it boils down to in the end.

Hi. I’m feeling discouraged just due to situation beyond my control. Doctors started me on high dose prednisone taper (starting at 60 mg for 1st 14 days) to treat the necrotizing myopathy. I’m already swelling up and holding water. I know my weight will go up. Dammit. I have to do prednisone taper every month for 6 months. But I’m going to track my food and just wait for it to stabilize when it does. Also my daughter is leaning heavily on me to re-home my 5 cats (all are rescues I adopted between 2011 to 2016 figuring I would be able to outlive them in a healthy conditions) sell my house, and move into a retirement community that has escalating levels of care. I know I’m going to end up in a wheelchair and it’s inevitable, but I love my cats and being independent. My girl is really awesome and she worries about me but sometimes I feel very pressured. The really bad face-plant fall with fractured rib , facial abrasions, and swollen knee really set me back. Plus now I’m dealing with switching from employers group health insurance to Medicare. I guess I’m going to have to retire after all. This is a lot. I could barely manage to get dressed today.

Ok. Not feeling great today. Broken rib hurts like a (fill in the blank). I haven’t eaten anything but crackers today but just ordered egg drop soup with diced tofu to be delivered. Also crab Rangoon. I can always eat that. My daughter is taking good care of me. Follow up Dr appointment is next Tuesday morning.
