I am excited! My son and I went on an hour long walk. It didn't faze him but I am sore all over my body! We walked maybe a mile (I don't move very quickly and I have a fairly short gait). Anyway, he has noticed my food choice changes. I explained what I was doing and how everyone on this site is so encouraging and non judgmental. I asked him if he wanted to set up an account and he said YES! So very proud of my boy! Unfortunately he has my body type/chemistry and the mere smell of food seems to cause weight gain! After dinner we logged his calorie intake and his school lunch was the worst part of his day! The food in the cafeteria is very processed and fatty. Today he packed a lunch from home! I want him to have a health filled life!

I had to deliver paperwork to another part of the building and thought what the heck - I will check the scale... I didn't even have to close my eyes and recite the 23 psalm! Yippee Skippy! I am down and it has only been 3 days since my last weigh in. I don't own a scale at home - I threw it out back in the 90's. I planned on weighing in on Mondays to keep me honest through the weekend, but I need a pick me up and I am so glad I stopped to check in!

I cannot remember the last time I wanted cereal for breakfast. It has been ages. I have a teenaged son that eats multigrain cheerios or just plain cheerios by the box (the big box) every day. My husbands favorite desert is lucky charms so we have plenty or that too! This morning I was craving cereal... I really wanted that super sugary lucky charms. I new if I was wanting cereal this badly it was going to be a struggle today against the sugar lurking in my office. So I chose the left over bit of rice chex from when we made chex holiday mix for the Christmas season. Not the best tasting cereal - super bland, I added a couple of shakes from the cinnamon in the cupboard to help out! I am not craving the sugar and cereal too bad now - thank God!
Today is the day I work at hitting my calorie goal of 1675 suggested by our company nurse. Wish me luck! I have preloaded all of the calories I brought to work with me, now all I have to do is stick with it! I can do it, I will do it!

Today I joined a group and a challenge. I know the only person who can make my life better is me... not the donut down the hall, and not the girl scout cookies in the kitchen pantry! I started this with the goal being the smallest I can remember being in my adult life - 175lbs, but after just a few days of journaling and being supported by all of you I truly believe that I can be a healthy weight 140(per my doc) - versus Morbidly Obese. I am a short person, and inside my size 3x there is a short, skinny person just waiting to come out.
I just want to thank all of you for being there. Who would have thought that just seeing that someone supported me would make such a profound impact. Thank you to all of the FS community for letting me be a part of you.

Oh My STARS!! I am so super excited! I did it! I lost some weight. I didn't feel deprived I even ate Ice Cream one time.... I am on cloud NINE. I am reasonably certain that I will not always loose this much weight each week as I know I always hit a plateau at 215 to 225 - that is my doldrums spot and never am able to move beyond it. That is where I usually just give up and throw in the towel. So happy for today. It is time to start another 12 hour shift.
Also I read about some people keeping a small pedal devise - like a bike - under their desks to get a tiny bit of exercise during their day. Has anyone on this site ever tried it? Is there a particular brand? The magazine suggested that I go to a sports equipment store, but I am thinking that maybe someplace like Target, Wal-Mart, K-mart, or Pamida would have something like that. Any suggestions out there?
