Not much 😔 I haven’t had much sleep since last weighing. Switched to keto diet and feeling constipated despite taking pyshilum husk, drinking lots of water and eating more veggies. Maybe Keto diet is not for me.

Nice result! 👍🏼🌟❗️ But I’ve got great misgivings about keto - I know it can be very effective for weight loss but it can also be very damaging to the cardiovascular system and to liver and kidneys. I wouldn’t be taking those risks. ⛔️

Vit88# I would suggest you go slow before all out strict keto. I actually prepared three months (research, understanding foods, building exercise pattern/habits etc) before starting keto on 1 March. This was to help minimise the impact of the dreaded keto flu that hits you in your first 1-2 weeks and lasts a few days. This keto flu (foggy brain, constipation, general uneasiness) is a sign of your body switching its fuel source from quick but dirty burning of sugars/glucose/carbs to your own fat storage and generated ketos. You also need to watch out and make sure you are getting all the right vitamins/minerals/ fibre too (to ensure you are not depriving/hurting your body as others here have mentioned). Keto can be for everyone but it’s not as easy cos it really needs understanding your body’s needs and being in tune with what you put in yourself. One binge of carbs (I.e. having an off day) can see your body reset back to sugar/glucose dependency and can take 3 days to reset it back to ketosis. Not trying to scare you here but give you a realistic expectation that you’re in it for the longer term. Good luck with your journey and keep it up!!

Thank you for the feedback guys 🙏🏻 I didn’t realise about keto flu, and how it will take 3 days for the body to adjust back should we cheat on carb ( rice or bread) . Wow! I will definitely do more research on keto.

Hi vit88#, I was struggling as well and amazed by other people weight loss and so decided to jump on keto! At the beginning I as reading and watching video and trying to do it right but even with all that my body wasn’t accepting it! Constipation.. feeling unhealthy eating all that fat from the morning coffee till the night! And the worse was I know it’s not me and couldn’t stick to it because I grow up eating all kind of food, eating Mediterranean food all my life. Like the fruit the fish the meat and of course bread and some dessert if am with friends. So after a month since started keto I start feeling LBS and bolting any time I eat carb and struggling to digest vegetables like before!! I stopped the keto straight away and went to a dietician seeking help. First I thought my body was having insulin resistant and after a blood test it wasn’t right. My body is absolutely fine with carbs and no harm in eating moderate portion of carb, so then my dietitian advice me to cut my portions and watch what am eating. Since that ( two months ago) I just eat two times a day and do moderate exercice three times a week . I started feeling better, not guilty for eating carbs and the best part that I can have my almond croissant with my friends when we catch up. Listen to your body and the most important that you can find a diet that can be a life style and not just for loosing weight. Wish you a good luck in your journey 😊

Fetiha.65 Thank you for sharing your experience on keto. I have decided I will go back to my original diet ( not keto). I admire those who can go full keto. I will adjust my portion instead and exercise regularly.

My experience is that all those extreme diets don’t work long term. The only way to succeed in weight loss is to reduce calorie intake and eat less of calorie dense foods to fill up the stomach and fight hunger and cravings. Keto makes you feeling awful after some time because of the constipation and the constipation is not healthy. I eat all foods and have treats every day and have lost close to 17 kilos in the last 3.5 months. The trick is in portion control and moderation.

@afaq21 Thank you for sharing. I have decided not to follow keto diet. You are correct , it will be hard to maintain long term. Back to portion control now. Well done on losing those kgs 👍🏻

Vit88 I would add to that a moderate exercise. Try to stick to at least 8-10k steps per day
