How did you build up to 60 minute runs? I tried couch-2-5K a while back and I found that running was very hard on me, even building up slowly. I am envious of your runs!

You know I really don't know. It's weird. I just have a passion for it. It's just something I've only recently come to the realization, and acceptance, of. And that's it. Really. I don't know how else to explain it. I never knew a runner was hiding inside, but, there he is. Lol. It seems to be coming naturally to me for some strange reason. Goofy thing about it is, I only started doing it when I began the Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred, and all I wanted to do was TEST myself to see if I could do just something a little bit more than the Shred alone. That's all. Just a tad extra umph! The decision almost became 100 Jumping Jacks instead, but I opted away from that since she has them built into the Shred. Now I'm hungry for it. Get this, too. In 2001 I gave up a 33 year addiction to cigarettes! Smoked 2-2.5 packs a day. And although walking the dogs easy enough, I can assure you running was totally out of the question. I would hack up a lung each as protocol prior to getting out of bed.(I breathe much more easily nowadays). I'm quite literally dumbfounded at this newfound joy. I just don't know how else to put it.

Hi there Izzy...sadly running really isnt for everyone, some people it is a terrible challenge and isnt enjoyable. I can tell you that If you can get your head around running you will see weight loss in a way that you wont get with any other form of cardio unless you are willing to try doing INSANITY OR T25 by Shaun T. These workouts are far harder than running can ever be and the change in your body is dramatic. If you belong to a gym the next best thing are SPINNING CLASSES or the moving stair mill...huge tough work out. Good luck and way to go Axevus ....you are killing it. Izzy, if you can get past the pain (GET GOOD RUNNING SHOES) the runners high will surely ensure. Good luck

Runrgrrll...I SOOOOO agree!!!! I was an avid runner for years and could pretty much eat what I wanted within reason and my weight always stayed down...I am now having to start all over again after almost 2 years of not doing anything...my body and weight sure have paid the price...I am on this new journey and hope to run again through it all.
