Anybody else here fall off for a couple days? Eating the "wrong stuff" or forgetting to log food in your diary? What do you do to help stop it from getting to you? I am trying not to hyper focus on the fall off and just keep making forward progress, but man some of the fall offs are so darn discouraging.

Amcdile I checked out your page or diary thingy, not sure what we call it on here lol. Your journey is phenomenal! I hope I can be half as awesome as you. If you don't mind, can I ask... Have you hit any plateaus? How do you kick the weight loss back into gear if you do hit a plateau?

Albreda1980 this definitely does feel like a slow process, especially when waiting to SEE the results 😤

Omg thank you. Its been a battle to say the least lol OH YES ive hit many. I try several things. Go back and see what i can adjust as far as portions or combonations of what im eating in one sitting. Be more active. Trick my body by having a cheat day. But most important is not quitting! Remind yourself the weight didnt happen over night and its gunna take time to get it off. Ive lost from counting calories and working out. And keto/low carb. Which is what im doing now because im old lol i still work out just not as hard. I love this app tho. Its definitely been a staple to helping me. Everyone is so supportive and kind. Thank you again for the compliments ☺

Intermittent fasting has helped me too. I do that daily now that im so close to my goal. I stop eating at 8pm. Then i break my fast 12 pm or 1pm the next day. I drink water and coffee tho. But this has helped shrink my stomach so i get full fast. I also stop eating when im full even if im not eating whats "recommend" i guess you can say i try and listen to my body lol

I find that logging every day keeps me accountable. Log daily, if you don't do anything else to help yourself...

It's important to be kind to yourself! Trying to stay on a strict "diet" will cause you to fail! Whatever way of eating (WOE) you choose, you must remember that progress is the goal - not perfection! If you are like many of us, this has to be a LIFE change - not a "diet"! If we get off track, if we eat too much, if we stop logging.... well, things happen. The important thing is to get back on track..... as soon as possible. For myself, I have been "over" on calories for many days in a row!!! A LOT over!!!! And it is showing on the scale! I am very diligent on the logging - not so diligent on the staying under RDI for the day. (Recommended Daily Intake). I will fast all day tomorrow, and try to do better..... hope this helps! Keep logging! 🫶 🌎 💚 🧡 💙 ❤️ 💜 🥰

I hear you. I get on a roll for a couple weeks, then slip for a few days, then hit the reset button. Just think where you would be if you didn’t try though? Try to change your mindset. Food is just molecules. Eat good molecules. Reject bad molecules. Easier said than done, right. Keep going!

We all do, it's about taking more steps forward than backward, sometimes the backward steps are needed for long term success. They may not be great physically, but they can heal the mind. Eventually all the forward steps will add up to you being near goal and the backsteps won't feel like a big deal.

when I mess up, and we all do, I don't let it go pass one day, the next day I get back on track, I don't worry about or beat myself up about.i hope that helps

I fall off the wagon a lot, for me it's mainly this last 4Kg I just can't seem to be able to lose and have been hanging on me for years now. Very frustrating, and very hard to keep positive. At the end of the day what we can do is just love ourselves and try again.. Good luck!

OKThank you guys. It's good to hear that it seems to be a fairly normal struggle. Being newer at this (about 2 months into it) it's easy to tell yourself you're a failure and other people probably stay on track with ease. Lord is it hard not to fall off when preparing separate meals from what kids and hubby eat, like this would be a lot easier if we were all in the same menu. Also gotta say, I frikin love this community! I love seeing your journeys and getting your words of wisdom.

The way I see it in our house, since I am the shopper, meal planner, cook and dishwasher, I don't make separate meals. I may put something on the table too high in full serving calories that I limit, so no one is truly deprived. But I'm not cooking separate meals. Eat what I cooked or open yourself a can of chef boy RD!😜
