Beautiful bio! Thank you for your honesty… Thanks for reading my tome! The real battle is fought in our head. I worry a lot about going through the same thing, because I am in particular, vulnerable to such behaviours. I think the relapse thing has a lot to do with not having effectively completed the job we started out to do. Thinking that just losing the weight was the change that would make the difference and a new habit would simply be formed! It doesn’t work that way for a lot (most?) of us - we are trying to overcome something we actually love - a bit of a dichotomy wouldn’t you say? I am trying to take the diet into the headspace. To focus on fusing these changes into the kind of lifestyle that I don’t want to give up. To do that, I am trying to make the foods I need, be the foods I actually want, and not just the foods that make some sort of difference to just weight loss. In other words, I have to give up french cooking without regretting it. That means finding foods and recipes that I love so much, for both their nutrition and their flavours, that I don’t want to go back to olde ways! It has to become a deep-seated mindset. The french did get one thing right, and that was cooking with a good, homemade dark chicken or beef stock. I use primarily chicken. It is a low cal way of boosting flavour profiles without adding the fats, etc… It even allows me to have sauces and gravies to die for, that are not suicidal. That means a lot of testing in the kitchen. It harks back to one of my journal entries about mindsets. I hope you don’t mind my popping in like this? Stay Strong - DV
