NowIunderstand's Notizen, 26 Jul 13

left the 5:2 group! Way too hard! I'd have to sleep all day just not to be hungry all day.

I've noticed there's not only hunger that comes into play. There's a strong psychological component whereas if I miss a meal, hungry or not, I fear that I will be come hungry and it bothers me to no end to have missed a meal. It's a craving for a meal, and not a particular food. I guess it's the conditioning of years of having a set amount of meals.

Yep - something about trying to eat on schedule rather than actual hunger makes my body and mind feud too.

I noticed you at a lot of high-glycemic foods--bananas, sugar, I'd be hungry too! You could try a modified regime where you eat your meals like you desire so you don't feel deprived but concentrate on whole foods at each meal(low glycemic). You'll end up cutting calories that week all while providing the nutrients your body needs.

I do consider fruits to be whole foods. The sugar is for my coffee. However, you're quite right, my meal was very high glycemic, and I do have a love of fruits. I've been wanting to subscribe to the CICO (cal in, cal out) method and ignore the GI. Normally, if I get my sugar from fruits, hunger does not come into play. My comment was about my being hungry was following the 5:2 (500 cal) regimen. But, yes, I do have a 'fruit problem - lol' and I should try to tame it! Thanks for your helpful input Mrs. Packrat, I can't argue with success!!!

I was the same way, I love fruits so it was no problem eating them, it was the veggies that I struggled with getting each day. But the 5:2 is not for everyone, even I take a break from it now and then. I did it for many weeks and yes, did have some good success. If anything, it taught me how to prepare filling, nutritional foods. When you only get 500 calories, you get very creative! :)
