*UPDATE* I'm so bummed. 2 years ago, I could work out twice a day, 5 days a week, and once on the weekends. I was pregnant last year, and badly sick, so I couldn't work out at all (though GOD knows I wanted to). This year, since baby was born in January, I'm finding out that I can't work out twice a day as easily as I could last year. Granted, this is my third child, and she was only born a month ago....but I still feel like I should be able to push myself harder since I had such a long break from working out. But the nightly feedings are draining me of energy more than I realized they would. It's bumming me out. Even my late morning workouts aren't that easy for me right now. I can't even manage to do all of the reps right now. I used to be able to do one of Jillian Michaels' workout videos in the morning, and then do the treadmill at night. I'm lucky if I can do one or the other during the day only. :( I'm a bit disappointed...
*********************************************************************** Day 6 of Working Out. My goal for the rest of the week (minus Saturday, because my son's birthday party is on Saturday, and the only foods there will be cake and pizza) is to eat cleaner. Notice how I said "cleaner" and not "clean". I'm afraid I'll fail if I stop cold-turkey, so I'm going to try it out and work the clean-eating in...that way, it'll be harder for me to fall off the wagon so easily. Usually, if I succeed at something, it pushes me to push myself, so I'm hoping that that's what'll happen. Last night, we ate Chinese food, but I only ate their salmon and their veggies...with a weeee little helping (probably a 1/4c. or less) of white rice. I made sure to cover my plate in fish and veggies though....and it was just one plate that was NOT piled high. lol That's a BIG deal for me! lol I didn't do the "30 Day Shred" like I had planned to. My night nursing my one month old was rough...so I didn't quite have the energy I wanted to have. She's supposed to be nursed every two hours, but from 2-6 a.m, she woke up every hour to feed. UGH! I'm exhausted! However, I managed to do 30 minutes of exercise just now (25-27 minutes on the treadmill and the rest were pushups and various other strength-training moves.) I hope that counts for something. I wish I had the energy right now.
