I got the results of my dexa scan. I am 48% body fat. That is eye opening and much worse then I even anticipated. I have a BMR of 1213 so basically I have been overeating 600 calories a day for years now until just recently. This explains a lot. It shows why I only seem to lose weight in proportion to what the scale shows. So now I know, 1200 calories is my max and I won’t eat any calories back from exercise. I should continue to see a loss if I stick to this principle long term. I have to. I am at risk of disease now.

I'd never heard of a DEXA scan until I joined this site! I think it's awesome that we have this technology available to the general public. At least you are aware of what you can do now to win this battle!! and thanks for the heads up Amira....I'm not going anywhere near one of those machines!! LoL I've only lost 20 pounds and my face wrinkles have become more pronounced and I've got wrinkles where I never knew wrinkles could exist and no amount of Oil of Olay is gonna fix that!! 😂

That’s my worry too. I am sure I will have the same problem. At least I am losing weight at a snales pace, less then a lg a week hopefully that will help with the lose skin. Either way better to be wrinkled up than dying of heart disease in my mind.
