This weight loss thing is definitely a journey. I have noticed a significant change in the way I feel and the way my body feels after I started eating healthier. I'm not as tired, I wake up early, I have energy and I am generally a lot happier in my day to day life. However, all these fruits and vegetables are pretty expensive. Does anyone have any tips to cut costs?

Also, (TMI ahead) today is the first day of my period. How will this affect my weight loss, I wonder. Will it slow it? Speed it up? Have no affect? (Pretty sure I am using the wrong affect/effect there.) I am down 16 lbs and my ultimate goal is to be at 170lbs by June 7th. I think it is doable. It means I have approximately ten weeks to lose 14 lbs.

Also, do people use this as an actual journal...for feelings and stuff or do most people only stick to weight issues? Hmmmm...I guess it is my journal so I can do whatever I want in here.

Tonight is sushi night. :) Should be a good time. Keeping the lunch and breakfast light (gonna have salad for lunch and I already ate breakfast) to offset the sushiness which will come.

Alright, this journal is long enough now. I dunno how comfortable I am writing more hahah.

I know that most women retain water & have some bloating before their periods. If the scale goes up during, I'm pretty sure it'll go right back down when you're done. As for fruits & veggies, I think everyone's in the same boat here. I use some canned items b/c it's cheaper & lasts longer. Just remember to rinse canned veggies in water to get rid of as much extra sodium as possible & as for canned fruits try to get ones that are in light syrup. I rarely buy canned fruits, so I can't remember if any are in water (doubtly). You could also go for dried fruits ; )

Hmmm...I wonder. I started today and weighed myself Wednesday AM. I wonder if theres any a/effect that many days in advance. Hmmm. Yes, canned veggies. And Frozen ones too, I guess. Good advice. Thanks! :)

Frozen fruits are awesome, esp berries. That something I really should get on adding to my diet, perhaps in my protein shakes ; )

Yes, TOTM definitely makes a difference!! I did WW a few years ago for about 6 months and afer a few months, the leader pointed out to me my own cycle because of the trend of ups & downs with the weight loss. That was embarrassing! LOL

Do you freeze your own grapes or do you buy them frozen? Not sure if I've ever come across frozen grapes before but that'd be awesome.

I freeze my own. I bought a bunch and wasnt eating them fast enough so I just threw them in the freezer. Works like a charm and frozen grapes are DELICIOUS.

Oh yes, I use frozen fruit in my protein shakes! Makes them like a smoothie!! I use the journal for ME! Of course I don't mind if people comment or read it. I use it for feeling and/or weight issues...just whatever I am feeling that day. I have never been a "journal" person, but it is nice reading back and seeing how happy your were when you accomplished a goal.... As for the "cycle" I don't know....this month I have worked out 6 days week (hard) and changed my whole diet and (this is my first month) and I am 8 days late right now!!! I have take pregnancy tests and I am not pregnant, but I am freaking out...lol! But I have done a lot of reading that if go on a drastic change like this you can skip a period until your hormones catch up. So I don't know if my weight goes up or down....LOL. Hopefully I get back to normal soon! Good luck!

No problem, Evil Angel. :) I don't really like pineapple. We have a love/hate relationship lol. I like it really, really fresh and cold and sweet. Steph, frozen fruit is great. I will see how my weight ups and downs change with my cycle. Stupid period lol. Thanks :)
