It was my birthday yesterday and boy was the urge to cheat strong. The cafe at work where I refill my water bottle is a Chocolatier with cakes and pastries and LOTS of chocolate. Usually the place doesn't bother me much, but yesterday I had to use all my willpower not to order a piece of cake "for my birthday". I got through it though.

Didn't take enough food to work, though. About an hour before leaving, I was feeling hunger pangs and I had no food and no place to get something appropriate. Yes, I eyed the cakes again. No, I didn't get one. By the time I got home, I was REALLY hungry, but it was already 10pm. I drank a shake (Dark Chocolate, so it helped with my "cheat" cravings) and went to bed.

Today, I weighed myself right out of bed and my 3-4 day stall is over. Lost another 2 lbs. YAY!! I'm going out with a friend for my bday, so I'll have to find low carb options on the go again. It worked out for me last time. Anyone know if the beef and broccoli at Panda Express is carb friendly?

Took a break from the spinach today. It seems the only veggie I've been eating regularly has been spinach. I'm getting sick of it. I stuck to green beans and broccoli today. Next time I go shopping I need to buy more cans of green beans.

Yesterday, I went to cook these snap peas I bought at the grocery store. I had looked at the package a dozen times and thought I was good to go. I boiled them real quick and put them on my plate. Ate one and went "OMG! This is sweet!" I took a look at the bag ONE MORE TIME and say they had 3g of sugar per serving and I was about to eat 2 servings. That is when I saw the name on the package (for the first time, apparently) that said "Sugar Snap Peas".

Why'd I buy those? LOL I know it's not processed sugar, but I had a strong suspicion those things would mess with my diet big time. I threw them out.

Tonight, I cooked a HUGE steak. 15oz. I ate the whole thing. I have been short on calories lately (carbs too), so I think that monster should do me for the rest of the day. :)

I feel like all my energy is spent on this (stupid) diet. I come home from work, do the dishes from the morning, cook dinner, then do the dishes from the evening and (try to) figure out something NEW to have for lunch the next day. It's draining. I used to have so much free time in the evening I didn't know what to do with it. Now I have maybe an hour of free time before its time to get ready for bed. (okay, that's exaggerating a little but that's what it feels like)

I try to keep focusing on the positive. I've lost 10lbs in the last week. I feel better than ever and the clothes I bought a year ago are starting to fit properly again. No more straining buttons on my work shirts. In fact, they feel positively baggy. All of this in a week!

But it's hard to get excited when I look in the refrigerator in the morning and realize I forgot to get anything ready for today's lunch. Now I have to try to get something going quick.

So why am I journaling?
