Journal for 2/6/12
Weather still getting in the way of exercise. I did get a run/walk in but it started thundering as I got ready to bike to work.
On a more positive note, my (unfortunately severely obese) nephew is excited about going hiking with me this weekend. He's 14; we're also taking his 7-year old brother. We'll be doing a very short hike of 1 mile but through some rugged territory. I've made myself a promise to pick them up at least one weekend a month and do something active. I'm thinking camping next month before it gets warm, to a walk-in site.
Diet -
2 eggs and cheddar cheese for breakfast
Atkins shake for lunch
Blu-cheese cursted pork roast, green beans, cauli-rice, and acorn squash for dinner.
Exercise -
Stretching, 1.96 mile walk/run, then crunches (4 sets of 20, 2 sets of supermans, 2 sets of bicycles) and pushups (skipped most of last week, so re-tested - 42 pushups in 1 set.)

Journal for February 5, 2012
We had to pick up my daughter to bring her to my dad's birthday. I tool her the bike I had found for her, and she was real excited to get it. I also noticed she was losing some weight - she's nowhere near fat but had put on some weight the last few months. Encouraging a young woman to be active and lose weight while being careful not to make it an appearance issue is really difficult, but she brought up fitting into a bikini by spring break and I was able to stress to her that my concern is not her wearing bikini but rather her developing a habit of staying active. I DO NOT want her to end up like me, at 46 and fighting a weight problem.
No exercise again - damn weather (and me being too lazy to pop in a video).
Diet-wise - so-so. Not only was it Super Bowl Sunday, but it was my dad's 70th birthday and he held his party at a Mexican buffet. Nothing extreme there or at the Super Bowl party, but having 2 non-low carb meals twice in one day wasn't good.

Blah. Been fighting a cold and the weather has sucked so my exercise is way down. Diet's been OK.

I am actually wearing a size Large shirt today! Admittedly, it's a snug cycling jersey, but it's a large.
Been in 2XL since I can remember, with a foray into 3XL before I kicked off the weight loss journey. 2XLs are big on me and I'm transitioning down to XL. But a Large?!?

Good morning!
Yesterday's journal:
Diet - Atkins shake for breakfast, bowl of chili for lunch, and then green chile stew for dinner (ate too much - 2 bowls)
Exercise - Crunches, then rode to work. Not much else; my body still hurts from the mountain biking on Wednesday.
