Third fast day ahead of me, breakfast packed up and ready to eat later. I'm feeling a little disappointed as the scales are going in the wrong direction at the moment, but let's stick with it and see what happens.

I did well yesterday and stayed within normal RDI following a fast day; however, I did go a bit heavy on the bread which is probably not such a good idea.
Although I wasn't desperately hungry at breakfast following the fast, I noticed both yesterday and on Tuesday that I was hungry mid-morning. I waited till lunchtime and the hunger pangs passed (as they do, anyway), but it's interesting.

I successfully completed a second 'fast' day yesterday - came in at just over 500 calories for the day. I felt fine all day, didn't really think about food. I wasn't hungry enough for breakfast until 11.30 and had a poached egg and steamed zucchini at about 7 p.m.
I slept really well and woke up before the alarm clock this morning feeling very well-rested - I noticed a similar feeling after Monday's fast, too. If that's going to be a regular effect I have to say I like it.
600 gr down on the scales this morning. That's nice, but it'll be the effect over the week that really interests me, and more importantly, over the next three months. I'm going to evaluate this trial period on 13 May, after three months.
As well as the new eating regime, I'm also swearing off alcohol for the duration of Lent. That's going well, too, in fact having made the decision it's pretty much off my mind.
Normal eating for today and the weekend; weekly weigh-in on Sunday morning and next fast day on Monday.

Today's a "fast" day - 500 calories. Breakfast is made and packed, I'll eat it around 11 a.m. It helps today that I've woken up feeling full and bloated. That's actually quite strange - I ate lightly yesterday, came in under RDI and walked both to and from school (about 80 minutes walking all together). Despite that I'm up half a kilo on the scales. Something strange going on in there that'll no doubt even itself out.

After a good day yesterday I was a little silly last night and had a beer and some chocolate (prior to giving up alcohol for Lent). That took me over RDi by about 20%. However, I'm still way under RDI if calculated over two days - the 'fast' day and yesterday, and another small drop on the scale this morning shows me that the idea you can eat what you want on non-fast days might not be far off the mark.
It's early days yet and these are just observations - I'll give it a full assessment after I've completed my self-monitored 3 month trial.
Today is Ash Wednesday and I'm not drinking alcohol until Easter. I've joined the challenge on FS for some buddy support, but actually I've done this a couple of times before and given my body a well-deserved break from the beer and wine!
