Years ago, I remember a study where women were asked to exercise 30, 45 or 60 minutes a day. They all lost weight, but surprisingly the ones who did it for 45 minutes lost the most weight. Of course the 45 minute group would lose more than the 30 minute group, but they also lost more than the 60 minute group, because those women often said they did not have time for 60 minutes so they did not do it. Just do as much as you can, and try to do a little more each day!

My mini goal of 163 lbs [when I left the Obese category for Overweight] was achieved and then I immediately started working on my mini goal to get to 150 lbs. I wrote in a previous journal somewhere that I don't remember weighing 150, it must have been some time when I was in college and got married, the years I was not weighing myself. 150 lbs is almost here now! I'm still really excited about my weight history turning green yesterday. I can't imagine getting to the blue zone, so I am forever happy to be green. :)

Yes! FYI: I read online that if you rinse canned lentils before using them in a recipe you can reduce the sodium on the label by about 35%. Hopefully that helps for other things, like my favorite GREEN BEANS. You guys remember when I binged and ate a whole can of green beans? lol I was so stressed out that day that I wanted to eat everything in the house, but told myself I would not binge on anything that would increase my blood sugar. I was and still am proud of myself for not going on a horrible binge that day. WooHoo!

Yesterday I received a message from my armband pedometer website: You are eating foods high in sodium. Today you ate 1,835mg of sodium so far, and the daily recommended maximum is 1,500mg. The USDA says that foods with less than 140 mg sodium per serving can be labeled as low sodium foods. Claims such as "low in sodium" or "very low in sodium" on the front of the food label can help you identify foods that contain less salt (or sodium). Tips from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
My weight gain must have been the salty chicken salad. I was also high in fat yesterday due to the boiled eggs and mayonnaise in the chicken salad. I thought that homemade chicken salad would be more healthy than store bought one. If I had eaten only 1/2 a cup instead of a whole cup I might have done better. Or just say no to chicken salad. Still thinking this over. :)
